Bellhop Stanley Belt (Jerry Lewis) lucks his way into a job impersonating a recently deceased comedian, whose death is seen as an inadmissable career move by his managers. Despite displaying no talent for comedy of the intentional variety, Stan's natural bumbling charm sees him through all manner of celebrity tests.
